La République du Burundi a inauguré, ce vendredi 28 février 2020 son consulat général à Laâyoune, devenant le sixième pays à avoir ouvert une représentation consulaire dans le Sahara marocain en moins de trois mois.
La cérémonie d’ouverture de ce consulat a été présidée par le Ministre des Affaires étrangères, de la Coopération africaine et des Marocains résidant à l’étranger, Nasser Bourita, et son homologue burundais Ezechiel Nibigira.
Depuis la fin de l’an dernier, les ouvertures de ces représentations consulaires se sont succédés à Laâyoune. Les pays ayant précédé le Burundi sont : l’Union des Comores en décembre, le Gabon, Sao Tomé-et-Principe, la République centrafricaine et la Côte d’Ivoire.
